About me
I studied Biology at the University of Heidelberg, Germany and got my Diploma in 2003.
I received my “Dr. rer. nat.” in 2007 studying nucleocytoplasmic transport supported with a fellowship of the ‘Marianne and Dr. Fritz-Walter-Fischer Foundation’ in the group of Prof. Ralph Kehlenbach (University of Goettingen, Germany).
In 2008, I moved to the University of Dundee, Scotland, to start my postdoctoral work on dynamics of nuclear MLOs with Prof. Angus Lamond supported by a fellowship by the ‘Leopoldina, Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher’.
In 2016, I joined the Dormann group at the LMU Munich working on the role of nuclear transport factors and RBPs in phase separation and neurodegeneration. Here, I also completed my Habilitation in Cell and Human biology in 2021, before our group moved to the JGU Mainz.
